Neeru Gill's journey to opening Beyond Boundaries Psychotherapy is a testament to her unwavering determination to break through the limitations that life often places on us. As the daughter of immigrant parents, Neeru grew up understanding the sacrifices and hard work that go into building a life from the ground up. Her family's experiences instilled in her a strong sense of empathy, particularly toward minority communities where mental health conversations are often stigmatized ignored or avoided. Neeru knew early on that she wanted to be part of changing that narrative.
After earning a degree in Business Management and spending a decade in the corporate world, Neeru felt unfulfilled. The drive to help others on a more personal level led her back to school, where she earned her Bachelor of Education while balancing the demands of raising young children. For 15 years, she worked as a high school teacher and guidance counselor, helping students navigate the challenges of adolescence and selecting a career path. Yet, deep down, she knew her calling went even deeper.
At a time in life when many would settle into their well established careers, despite her success, Neeru knew her calling went deeper, pushing her to return to university once more to earn her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology.
Neeru's path to becoming a psychotherapist wasn't without its own obstacles. In 2022, while completing her degree, working full-time and managing her family, she was diagnosed with a chronic illness. This experience tested her resilience but also deepened her understanding of the importance of mental health support. These personal challenges, combined with earlier experiences of being bullied as a child, shaped Neeru into someone who is non-judgmental and committed to creating a safe and inclusive space for her clients.
Today, Neeru is proud to be fulfilling her lifelong dream with Beyond Boundaries Psychotherapy. Her journey of pushing beyond her own boundaries has uniquely equipped her to help others do the same. Neeru believes that by sharing her story, she can inspire clients to break through their own limiting beliefs and reach their full potential, no matter the obstacles they face.
